Emergency Maintenance Protocol

The Echelon Apartments designates the following scenarios as urgent maintenance emergencies:

Any immediate threat to life or safety: gas leaks, fires, flooding, severe weather, or police-related incidents (such as broken windows, locks, or doors). Dial 911 immediately, then notify our Maintenance team.

Complete loss of heating (when outdoor temperatures are below 60 degrees) or cooling (when outdoor temperatures exceed 80 degrees). Special medical accommodations require current resident documentation on file.

Full power failure or dangerous electrical issues, including sparking outlets and malfunctioning appliances.

An overflowing toilet causing damage.

A severely clogged toilet, provided it is the only bathroom in the residence and manual plunging has been attempted.

Total lack of electricity (verify your circuit breakers and contact your utility provider before requesting maintenance service).

Complete loss of running water.

Major plumbing emergencies: active leaks, ruptured pipes, or significant water intrusion.

Active sewer or drain backups.

Suspected gas leaks (contact the gas utility company prior to notifying management).

Visible structural damage threatening the integrity of the building.

Ruptured water mains or burst interior piping.

Please note: After-hours lockouts are not classified as maintenance emergencies. In such cases, please contact a professional locksmith at your own expense and notify the leasing office within 24 hours to provide a key copy.

For all non-urgent requests, please submit a formal work order through your Resident Portal account.
